Kids Halloween Party Drive – Rockaway Free Flea Market
With no funding, Marissa Bernowitz and Mama Rose decided that after Sandy, she wanted to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Bernowitz says ,“The Rockaway Free Flea Market is a place where people can donate goods for others, and pick up goods they may need to get by during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and beyond. “
Since that time, the flea market’s operation has grown and they have been looking for a space to continue their operations. They are asking the community if anyone would be able to host them for collecting, sorting and distribution to contact Marissa. Everyone who is involved with the flea market will continue to help any families in need of any help or assistance.
One great way Marissa thought she could help the community out was by hosting an event for Halloween. The Rockaway Flea Market is collecting new and gently used Halloween customs of all sizes, candy, healthy snacks, goodie bags (to be filled), and decorations for a Halloween party and giveaway on October 26th.
So far, this organization has raised $1,615 in funding. Their goal is to reach $5,000. If you would like to donate, they can use all of the help they can.
