Warm Up at PS 1 is a summertime event held at the P.S. 1 museum. The museum is nationally renowned for its contemporary art. Warm Up at PS 1 is held every Saturday from July 7 through September 8 from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and features music and dancing and areas where participants are doused with water to cool down. Admission is $15 at the door and includes all-day access to the PS 1 Contemporary Museum, so everyone is sure to find something they are interested in.

Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing Meadows is in its 22nd year and is held in early August. Last year it was held on August 4 and 5 and details of the exact date will be available soon. Teams compete, building Chinese dragon boats and then racing them in Meadow Lake in Flushing Corona Park. There is a $60,000 prize for the winner. During the festival there is music, dancing, martial arts demonstrations, and all kinds of ethnic food.

Forest Park is a perfect getaway for the family all summer any day of the week and any time of the day. Along with the great scenery you’ll find all kinds of games, horseshoes, shuffleboard, track and field, golf, horseback riding, and skateboarding at the skate park.

Rockaway Beach is seven miles of beach and surf on the Rockaways Peninsula. The water feels great in the summer and you will find areas that are relaxing and others with a bit more excitement.

Bohemian Hall opens its popular beer garden Memorial Day weekend. Of course there is a long list of great beers for the adults, but the kids can enjoy the Czech and Slovakian foods as well as Americanized dishes, entertainment and dancing.
